HONEY GARLIC SALMON – a captain cooks creation

HONEY GARLIC SALMON – a captain cooks creation

Encouraged by the delicious results and popularity of his Honey Roast Duck a while ago (recipe here),  Francois asked permission to invade my land galley once again and I’m lovin’ it!  He cooks (I’ve never had any of his creations that haven’t  been super delicious).  He cleans up after himself (how could I ever complain about that). Added to that, he’s just an all round great guy and he kills spiders for me.  How could a relationship be any more…

CAPTAIN COOKS: Grilled Beer Marinated Ham

CAPTAIN COOKS: Grilled Beer Marinated Ham

My man is at it again and voluntarily too. After the encouragingly huge success of his Marinated Ginger Tuna Steak (recipe link here), he asked to enter my galley arena once more. We recently enjoyed an evening with a group of boat friends at a pot luck house party. Someone’s contribution was ham cooked in beer. Divinely delicious! …which inspired Captain’s latest creation.   GRILLED BEER MARINATED HAM STEAK what you’ll need Ham steaks, about 6 Captain used a piece…

Be still my little Galley Kat heart! François asked: “Can we do another Captain Cooks blog post?” He plans it. He shops for the ingredients. He prepares it. AND… He even cleans up! Could there be any other answer than YES!!!? The following is the latest of his galley creations, always made (he says with a wink) with a ‘secret ingredient’ (don’t worry, I took the photos so I know what it is and promise not to leave it out)…

CAPTAIN COOKS – BABY BACK BEER RIBS

CAPTAIN COOKS – BABY BACK BEER RIBS

Our weather here in the Great White North, has been on a meteorological roller coaster lately. Anyway, yesterday gave us some hope that grilling season isn’t too far far away. …and we are just going to ignore,…

CAPTAIN COOKS – WHITE BEAN and HAM SOUP

CAPTAIN COOKS – WHITE BEAN and HAM SOUP

…Big surprise… no Pillsbury dough was sacrificed in the process! Captain François is diving into this galley cooking with such enthusiasm! Today I was allowed in for a brief period to bake some boat bread but then I had to retreat. I was allowed to take photos but that was it. He even made our preparing-dinner-cocktails (now that would be a great future post! – Captain’s Cocktails) WHITE BEAN and HAM SOUP Serves 8 2 cans of 19 oz white…
