I don’t actaully have a specific recipe for onion soup
but it is so easy to throw together, even on a boat with limited resources…
BOAT FRENCH ONION SOUP
2 cups caramelized onions
4 cups beef broth
2 tbsp flour
1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup sherry or red wine
parmesan cheese, grated
mozarella cheese, grated
Add onions to a pot and gently heat
Sprinkle flour over onions and stir to incorporate until flour is ‘cooked’
Add brandy and wine and simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour into serving bowls
Top with bread
Sprinkle with cheese
For those lucky enough to have an oven, at this point,
broil until cheese melts and is slightly browned.
Or place blowls on a heated BBQ and cover until cheese is melted.
