CAPRESSE SALAD w/ CRISP PROSCIUTTO

CAPRESSE SALAD w/ CRISP PROSCIUTTO
Nothing replaces fresh herbs
but in a pinch Gourmet Garden
mades an excellent choice…
This is a fresh tasting and quick salad –
great as is with some crusty bread or
accompanying a grilled dinner.
CAPRESSE SALAD w/ CRISP PROSCIUTTO
2 servings
4 slices prosciutto
2- 3 tomatoes, sliced or chopped
1 unit fresh mozzarella, sliced or torn into chunks
1 tbsp Gourmet Garden basil
1 tbsp Olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Balsamic pearls to garnish
…Grill prosciutto until crisp
Mix together basil, oil and vinegar and spoon some on each plate.
Stack layers of tomato slices and alternating slices of Mozzarella.
Top with prosciutto.
Garnish with pearls..
…or…
…throw all into a bowl and toss…

  2. I keep meaning to tell you how much I like your blog's feel. Nice and warm and cozy. A great color to induce hunger I've read.
OK I saw this recipe with Balsamic Vinegar Pearls and now you have the scientist in me excited. I had to research how to make the vinegar pearls and have already sought my agar agar supply so I can make these. I want to try this with sherry vinegar, my personal favorite, and champagne vinegar too. I love beautiful food presentation like you have here and this sounds like a fun way to add some beauty to a dish. Hmmmm all kinds of ideas are racing through my head. Thank you for the inspiration Galley Kat!

Hey there Sail Away Girl, Thanks for the nice comment. I would love to know how your pearls turn out. The crafty creator in me wanted to try but the aging Kat in me thought why bother when I could buy some. It would make an awesome post on your blog
