SIMPLE HOMEMADE RANCHERO SAUCE
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, chopped
1 jalapeno, minced (seeds removed for less heat)
oil for sautéing
1 tsp ground cumin
sea salt and pepper to taste
1-14 oz can diced tomatoes (juice included)
Sauté onion and garlic in oil until translucent.
Add jalapenos and continue to sauté for another minute or two.
Add tomatoes and simmer until the mixture becomes thickened and saucy.
