WHITE BEAN & PALM HEART DIP with PEPPERONI CHIPS

Today I am trying out R.E.D.’s new toy…
manual food processor
It seems like the perfect addition
inexpensive, small and no battery life will be sacrificed in the process…
For my first attempt I decided to make a hummus-type dip
White Bean and Palm Heart Dip
1 can white beans, drained
1 can palm hearts, drained
6 garlic cloves
3 tbsp tahini (or natural peanut butter with a splash of sesame oil)
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup olive oil
Sea salt & pepper
Place all into processor bowl with triple blade, lock in lid
Be prepared to use some muscle, turning until the desired consistency
But as I said, it won’t drain the boat battery
and I get some exercise.
win…win…
Aside from pita and fresh veggies
this is really good with salami or pepperoni chips…
(this time I made it with 2 cups white flour, 3 cups 5 grain flour)
…Pepperoni chips…
Place thinly sliced salami or pepperoni on a BBQ-safe grill pad
…we have this sheet on the boat for cooking on the bbq.
It replaces a Silpat used in conventional ovens…
Cook until slightly brown and curled around the edges.
They crisp up as they cool.
If using a conventional oven heat to 400 ° using same method above for about 12 minutes.
