This recipe caught my eye…
(and I had one lonely steak in the freezer
which didn’t want to be left behind when boating season starts)
SIMPLE BEEF STIR FRY
Adapted from The Clever Carrot
2 tbsp soya sauce (or Bragg seasoning)
2 tbsp honey
1/4 cup beef broth
1 generous tsp cornstarch
Whisk all together and set aside
for meat & veggies
1-2 tbsp cooking oil
splash sesame oil
1 beef filet, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, grated
1″ fresh ginger, grated
1 cup orange peppers, sliced
1 cup snow peas, cut on diagonal
sesame seeds to garnish
pea shoots to garnish
(still waiting for my sprouter to arrive so I can be sprout-independent)
Heat oil in wok.
Quickly sear meat with garlic and ginger.
Move all to sides of wok and add veggies.
Toss for no more than 1 minute until they become brightly coloured.
Add sauce and toss meat and veggies to distribute.
Serve on a bed of *quinoa or rice (see Galley Kat Note below)
Garnish with pea shoots and sesame seeds
Galley Kat Note:
*Have you have ever noticed your quinoa has a bitter taste?
The bitter coating easily dissolves if the quinoa is rinsed before cooking.
