During a recent visit with my daughter
she let me have a whiff of some beef she was marinating…
Oh my!!!!
I woke the next morning still thinking about that heavy delicious scent.
So on the menu for dinner tonight…
Korean-style Grilled Steak
¼ c sugar
¼ c soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
6 large cloves garlic, minced
6 scallions, white part only, minced
1-inch knob fresh ginger, finely chopped (my link to preserving ginger)
1 tbsp sesame oil
1½ lbs. flank steak cut against the grain in thin strips
(placing the steak in the freezer for 30 minutes makes it easier to slice)
kosher salt to taste
Place all ingredients in a container and let marinate for 3-4 hours.
When ready for dinner, remove strips of beef from marinade
and sear very quickly in hot grill.
Turn once and sear.
The marinade ‘cooks’ the beef so a quick hot sear is all that is necessary.
