44 CLASSIC FRENCH MEALS YOU NEED TO TRY BEFORE YOU DIE – #11
I’m back to picking away at my 44 Classics…
this time Tartare…
Several years ago now, we were lucky to have the chance to spend a month in Paris.
I ordered Boeuf Tartare no less six times
And each time the seasonings and presentation were different…
different but delicious…
….this, from a little bistro and the portions were monstrous.
With this next one I’m going to cheat a bit
and offer you my favourite recipe for Tuna Tartare…
(I’m more in a ‘sea’ frame of mind)
This recipe was really easy…
and the results were light, fresh and delicious….
(a little portion for my taste-tester)

TUNA TARTARE
for purée
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1avocado
1-2 tsp Wasabe
for tartare
1 green onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sesame oil
1-2 tsp Wasabe
1/2 lb (or about 300 g) sushi grade tuna
for serving
lime zest
toasted sesame seeds
salad greens
Toasted baguette slices, crackers or vegetable chips
